a tad unnatural and at times embarrassingly corny in its noir stylization and a plot of little interest (granted i'm generally not big on convoluted yakuza tales), but the whole get-up does look fab, as does tomoyo harada in her varied apparel – and she's dancing, too. there's a scene at a nightclub in which she is dancing herself through the crowd, turning down each and every man who moves towards her by pulling a face at him, before she proceeds to grimace at the camera thus implying the viewer to be another rejected admirer. later someone hums beethoven's ninth. all is well.
