bro that ending?! what the fuck???!! huh??? talk about a cliff hanger! it's a good thing season 2 is out bc i would've combusted if it wasn't!
anyway this was hella good! the concept is a little wtf and never really explained lol it's just like yeah! when they clap they can jump into photos and change the past kinda! you just gotta roll with it I guess lol
lmao I'm watching the ep 5.5 thing right now and it's so wtf like the dude is now an old ass man and he's still trying to get that woman by fighting her dad? haha what the hell and yipee the old man approved! they can marry! even tho they look like they're 60 or something!
anyway back to the actual show! it was a slay! GETO IS IN THIS!!! my fav cheating womanizer sakurai takahiro! his voice in this show is literally suguru! with the visuals of gojo!! and his name is hikaru! at least in Japanese! like what! is it the summer he died?! I prob sound crazy rn lol I should read hikarugashindanatsu tho but yeah anyway! oh also his face reminded me of like dabi, structure wise? like if he wasn't burned to hell and back? but yeah I was just happy because the main trio is literally sashisu! kinda! and toki and hikaru have their gay lil basketball scenes just like in jjk! did my man gaygay watch this show and get inspiration for jjk lol I mean bro did cite that tricorner window something whatever bl as inspo so I wouldn't put it past him! or did jjk come first?? idk but whatever that's not important! what's important is that this show was good!
also this kinda reminded me of death parade which I literally just watched lol, like the anthology-esque structure and the flashback-y plot development and stuff about death and how it made me cry! this show made me cry more I feel which is not what I wanted before going to bed! but the part with the earthquake def was like oof and made me tear up a bunch. like man toki is going through HELL in some of these eps! poor guy! and hikaru is just chilling! looking dead and being all analytical! I just realized we know like nothing about his background so I'm curious if it'll be explored in s2! guess I'll see soon!
um what else... oh the art was beautiful! great set/background design! the white line art for the backgrounds really caught my eye too, like idk if I've seen other shows do that?? but it looked really good! weird aspect ratio tho! smol! uhh it was kinda confusing watching the japanese dub while all the text is in Chinese and there's japanese subtitles but also English translations that don't quite match with the japanese sometimes! I thought the English subtitles were wack at first but then I realized it's the japanese sub that's changing the nuance and meaning completely sometimes for seemingly no reason at all? like the foreigner/田舎者 thing? does China have smth against foreigners bc this sort of sentiment came up twice in the show lol also why did they pitch up the op and ed in the japanese version and wazawaza rerecord it (not that I'm complaining tho cuz the jp version of the ed is lowkey a banger). also it was trippy bc i sometimes forgot it's not set in japan and I'm also not familiar with like how houses and apartments and the countryside looks like in China so it was like whoa! I didn't know doors looked like that! cool light switches! damn they just leave the door open?! interesting architecture! I mean it's pretty normal most of the time but sometimes it was a whole cultural education moment! slay!
anyway uhh the ending! that was a really wtf moment! I should really stop yapping and start watching! but before that was there anything else worth mentioning... oh the guy! who was like drunk as hell! what is is deal? and bro!! he killed hikaru??? is this truly our summer that hikaru died?? wait do I even have the names for the two dudes right lol I can't remember which was which. it doesn't help that they sometimes call each other by their Chinese names and the English subtitles use the Chinese ones. very confusing. but it's alright! anyway this show pretty gay! like first 2 eps! ep1 gay! ep2 lesbian! and then it drops the homoeroticism a bit but then picks it back up like a 2000s ska band when the crazy drunk killer dude starts being all dom on toki! I was like oh! 🫢 good heavens! anyway I frfr should stop typing out all my thoughts and continue watching the damn show so I can find out if gojo lives! I'm sure he does bc he is in the poster of the second season looking alive and well! :D
