Exactly how many times can we repeat the same movie until we finally get sick of it??
Im really starting to get tired of these sequel / reboot type movies where they reuse the same plot from the original movie and excuse themselves as a "new franchise starter".
The characters are dumb, everyone in this movie got what happened to them based on the stupid decisions that they made. And what makes it worse was just how predictable and repetitive those dumb decisions were. If you've seen any other Alien film, you've pretty much seen this movie already.
Michael Fassbender's Walter and David were pretty much the only good characters in this movie. They carry on the philosophical themes that were explored in Prometheus, which was actually the most interesting element of this movie.
But when you think it dives deep into those themes, it's quickly sidelined by the stupid cliche driven horror elements.
The cinematography is gorgeous, and the set designs are top notch. But all that isn't enough to compensate for an Alien story that we've seen 500 times in this franchise already, and poorly developed characters that are way too expendable to care for.
