"Colossal(シンクロナイズドモンスター) is directed by Nacho Vigalondo and stars Anne Hathaway, Jason Sudeikis, and Dan Steven. This story is about an unemployed young writer, Gloria, played by Anne Hathaway, who is currently left behind by his boyfriend for always getting drunk, fooling around with friends, and doing nothing meaningful. And she stars working at a pub with her childhood friend, Oscar , played by Jason Sudeikis, in her hometown. One day, hearing a bulletin news reporting that a colossal creature goes on a spree of violence, destroying building and hurting citizens in Seoul, Gloria realises that "the creature simultaneously acts the way she does" . Although she tries to protect the nations, controlling the creature, she has also got to deal with another one that emerges into the world...
In a short, this is a really gibberish plot with gibberish giant creatures. I just wonder why the hell thsese creatures move as she does. They have no connections with her I suppose or have I missed out something that could be the key to understand the reason? One more thing that probably makes us ponder is why Anne Hathaway has been playing a gibberish role in that kind of films these days...For me, her performance in "Les Misérable" was the very best that she deserved an Osacr for that role. Whereas, it could be possible that she will win an Razzy Awards for this role in Colossal this year. Anyway all things that happens in this film just don't make any sense to me. This might've be titled as Colossal just because this focuses on the Colossal creature(s) I suppose.
