"La la land" is directed by Damien Chapelle (previously directed Whiplash) and stars Ryan Gosling(as Sebastian)and Emma Stone(as Mia) both of whom struggle to become successful in their each career; Sebastian is a unsuccessful jazz pianist who plays some songs that are given to him in a restaurant. Whereas Mia is an unsuccessful actress who has tried so many auditions for taking a role, nevertheless has never passed any of them. Bumping into each other, they start to getting their relationships closer and even fall in love after all, helping each other become successful.
This's been a very promising musical film since it's come out and has been nominated for 14 Oscars. I was actually kinda worried about how great it would be for me cos I'd seen many musical films before and just a few of them were marvellous, the others including (Oscar winner Chicago) were not that good and makes me wonder why they are so overrated amongst critics. However this film La la land really lived up to my expectations. I really enjoyed watching them dancing, singing and of course its well-written romantic story. I think that this was made like with the same atmosphere as in some 1950's musical films such as An American in Paris or Singin' in the rain, which influenced the director Damien heaps. So sometimes I felt like that I was watching a classic musical film especially when "The End" came up at last. Anyway I'll probably see this some more times. This can be recommended to anyone even who rarely sees musical films. Have fun.
