I just admire Mel Gibson for his work. I knew that it's about the World War Two but I can't still believe this was happening.
As Japanese, I got mixed feelings or emotions when the story continued to the end.
I just wanna say that not only one country lost people who fought for own country during the wars, but everywhere in the world.
A man who joined an army was willing to fight without having any weapons with him.
How can he protect himself or survive without weapons?
How can he serve his country?
Everyone thought that way except his father.
Technically, it seems impossible to protect oneself without weapons and it might bother other soldiers.
However Desmond just made it.
Fighting the war without weapons sounds just like going to commit suicide.
But it's for killing an enemy, helping buddies it might not be necessary to have it just like he did.
Unarmed man was braver and stronger than armed men.
Caution
This is a war movie and this describes how people fought wars. How people died. So some senses are kind of gross. However this is the truth. We can't just ignore what we all had done. We all have to face it to remember what happened in the past for not doing the same thing again.
