"Sleepless" stars Jamie Foxx is Vincent Downs who is a corrupt police, who rob the shipment filled with 25kg of drugs that an entrepreneur (Stanley) was going to sell to a son of a potent mob boss (Novak). Realising that those drugs were stolen by him and his partner, Stanley abducts Vin's son and forces him to bring the drugs back to him by the time by Novak arrives there to collect them. Meanwhile, two of the police officers, who takes the robbery case to investigate, makes an attempt to track Vincent down, who has claimed to be an undercover officer that has been collecting proof to bring those mafia to the justice for 2 years...that anyone can hardly trust the fact that he speaks.

This came out like a couple of years ago in the United States but has yet to be theatrically released in my country. I guess it's coming out in 2017 somewhere though. Because I live in Australia currently, I finally got a chance to see this movie on a movie web. Judging by its poster, I felt that the use of those colours are a little bit similar to Moonlight that actually came out a year after this movie was released though, but still love this sort of colour that really intrigues me and entices me into seeing its content as well. In terms of the plot, I expected it to be like The Training Day which is also a story about an undercover police officers trying to arrest some hooligans. But it makes the audiences think that Jamie is one of the corrupt cops by showing him and his partner rob the shipment in the very begging of the film, and as the story proceeds and the more characters show up, he seems a like more good officer than a corrupt one, which also confuses us a bit and makes us wonder which side he is actually on. And then in the middle of the story getting excited and closer to its climax, he finally reveals himself as an undercover, however we can hardly determine what he claims to be because he was keeping touch with a drug dealer a minutes ago, which also really baffles us, like who we really need to follow to solve the matters happening in this story. Although It's a bit cliche of this sort of crime films to excite the audience, I loved those kind of tricks to perplex and allures us into the movie deeper so that I kept both of my eyes open and concentrated on it till the end. That was great. And I liked how this movie comes to an end as well. It probably insinuates how the business between corrupt cops and mafias works and perpetuates...you'll see at the end. There are so many good things that I liked and some things that could've been better such as its running time, which is only 90 minutes long. Crime films especially about undercover police officers should be nearly 2 hours long at least in my opinion, otherwise some important facts or things should be cut or missed by the audiences. Wish it were a bit longer for me. But I suppose lots of people, crime films lovers in particular, can enjoy the story a lot.

Thank you for reading my brief review of "Sleepless"!!
