Beyond any doubt it is not a film for the faintest of heart—Three Billboards torments its inhabitants with heart-wrenching situations, establishing it as one of the angriest and the grimmest tale in recent memory. Despite all that, the film is still one of—if not—the funniest comedy of 2017; That wondrous balance of rage and suffering with comedic tenderness is what allows it to linger between the line that segregate it from being an enjoyable black comedy and complete torture porn. It is a film that reminds us even in the darkest and bleakest of night, a chuckle or two is the remedy we desperately need.
