“Mirai of the Future” directed by Mamoru Hosoda.
Having enjoyed most of his works especially like The Girl Who Leapt Through Time or The Boy and the beast a lot, I had quite a high anticipation for this film and also excited to see how he would direct the next film. However, it just disappointed me in some points: mostly the plot that is basically about the very selfish, naughty boy who has yet to learn the important of appreciations to his parents and people around him. Although It’s no wonder he doesn’t understand it at all coz I used to be like him when I was his age (maybe), I feel that this film should have contained more other essential stuff to enlighten kids who watch this movie as an audience as opposed to showing this naughty kid causing lots of trouble that, however lead him to understand the appreciation to parents for bringing up him eventually. Still there should be more things to get focused on during this entire film I suppose...it doesn’t mean we don’t get anything from this movie at all, we learn how hard it is for parents to raise children as they hope to. So most parents would be able to sympathise with the parents in some aspects I guess but I have never been a parent before so...it might have discouraged us to have kids maybe lol But I, as always, like the visuals with really good animations. That’s a goody thing about Japanese anime I guess. Cheers!
