“Crazy Rich Asians” a Comedy-drama movie featuring a majority Asian American cast for the first time for a major Hollywood studio so the main language of this movie is English so don’t have to bother to read subtitles. When I first saw its trailer I didn’t really think this movie would be for me coz I’m not a fan of this kinda comedy drama with some romance (though I watch them) However, this movie luckily turned out to be what I didn’t expect. It was quite well written and well performed by these Asian cast despite the genre that sounds a bit silly but was not at all. It mainly focuses on these two divided groups: the poor and the rich and tells us as long as the two from each group is as happy as can be, however poor or wealthy each one is doesn’t matter at all and I totally agreed. The way the movie shows that issue is sometimes serious and sometimes comical with some humour. So the whole movie doesn’t sound preachy particularly to those who come from wealthy families. Therefore we can enjoy this movie, feeling relaxed with some laughters and learning some important stuff. That was great. One of the issues in the movie was that though from the beginning to the middle it was good, I felt the rest of the story went kinda first as the movie was getting close to the end and it ended as I had actually expected.
