Jumanji: The Next Level - Movie Review (English translation below)
・[日本語] 数年前に公開されたリブート版ジュマンジの続編。キャストは前回とほぼ同じだが、ダニー・デヴィートとダニー・グローヴァーが加わったのはうれしすぎた。
とても豪華なキャストのお陰で、前回と同様に彼らのちょうどよく、いきなりくるジョークはストーリー全体にコメディー要素を加え、ガチアクション映画とはちがい笑いどころが多く、楽しめた。たまにせっかく作った雰囲気を1つのジョークでぶち壊した感もあったが、プロコメディアンの彼らはやることが分かってるため、鬱陶しい感じはなかった。
問題があるのは、ストーリー。これは前回とほぼ同じで、彼らが石を手に入れ太陽に見せるというミッション。よく古い冒険映画で見るようなミッションで、面白くはない。恐らく、映画側はスクリーン上によく出てくる動物や風景をアニメーション化するのに、フォーカスしすぎたのだろう。そこはみていて凄いとは思ったが、ストーリーが良くなくては…しかも、よくある感動させる感じのものがストーリーから出過ぎで、感動すらできなかった。全体的に言うと、良くはできていない。
・[ENG] A direct sequel to the previous reboot Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle starring pretty much the same cast as the last time: Rock, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and with Danny DeVito and Danny Glover!
The cast totally made it extremely comical and intense at the same time with their talent and great humour which was not too much. Some humour sometimes seemed to be a bit of distractions to the atmosphere created after so many sequences and it seems like jokes kinda ruined it. Nevertheless, it was not that annoying coz these comedians definitely know what they do.
However, the entire storyline was pretty cliched and dull since the whole point of what these characters do in the film was pretty much the same as they did last time with a few changes to their objective. The film definitely put so much more effort into animating animals and backgrounds than the plot itself. So you can probably visually enjoy seeing these stuff if you care about nothing about the plot. And it was quite obvious that the film was created to be a tearjerker with so many action sequences. Overall, it was not a good film.
