"Following" was directed by Christopher Nolan. This is his directorial debut with a feature-length film!! And I finally saw it on YouTube!! It only runs 70 minutes...how short! And he only cast non-experienced actors including his uncle as the police man in order to make this very low budget haha I'm going to explain this story very briefly cos ,as I told you before, it's only 70 minutes long. Anyway, this film is about a man who is a writer and interested in following strangers to know where they go or live. Following a man, who turns out to be a burglar, he is lured into breaking into someone's houses and stealing money, and then it changes his life in a good way? or bad way? because of the man that he was following...
Even for a short film, it's well-written and well-shot by Christopher Nolan. This very low budget black-and-white mystery became the root of all of those incredible sci-fi films that he directed afterwards such as Memento, Interstellar, The Dark Night, Inception, and etc... before going to see Dunkirk, just spend your 70 minutes on Following to get a clue of how Christopher Nolan became such a magnificent and brilliant director.
