bruh the ending 💀 it wasn't even sad at that point, it was just like what the fuck??? why did bro have to die???
whose idea was it to put that after the credits lmao
but other than that this show was fire!!! I loved it! just like how ash and eiji definitely loved each other and definitely had say gex! 🏳🌈
it was way more like, shonen-y? than I expected? or well I guess I expected it to be shonen-y and then I found out it's based on a shojo manga and I was like wow slay queen
but yeah it was such a riveting story (especially in the beginning to middle, there were some redundant points a little before the end I feel) and the whole gang dynamic and drug/sex trafficking mystery was fleshed out and kept me interested. and it's nyc so I was like oh I've seen that place before! and new jersey was in it too! I was like bitch I've been there!!! that's edgewaterr!!!
i was a lil let down by the fact that ash and eiji were like clearly down bad for each other but they just always referring to each other as their "friend" while also being like "my soul will always be with you"
like what kinda bro says that to another bro
sounds kinda lgbtqia+ to me💅
and like eiji is literally the damsel in distress in every scene
if he was a woman he'd would not pass the bechdel test at all lmao but he's a guy so whatevs
ash and all the good guys had the most invincible plot armor throughout the show but also whatevs
oh I also liked yut-long, bro's fits and hair was majestic and he made a great villain antithesis to ash
but I basically just like him bc he's a tragic lil alcoholic femboy lmao
ofc I also like my beautiful femboy(?) ash too and the show never let's us forget that he's beautiful and smart and cunning and ruthless and etc lol. I like all the trauma and shit that happens to him. felt like I was watching an anime adaptation of a fanfic I read or smth lol
but honestly I was expecting it to be more tragic and brutal ngl bc everyone talking about this show was like omg this wrecked me for months so I was preparing for the worst but there's a lot of lighthearted scenes and comedy and it's just like a drama yknow and like way less angsty than the fanfic I read for like a light read when I'm bored at work lmao
oh the op and ed for the first half of the show was fire too! esp prayer x, fucking love that song now. the latter half op and ed sucked honestly lol they should've just kept it the same throughout the series
anyway good show! beautiful art! great modernized adaptation too, idk the original but it's from the 80s so they did a great job making things more modern I feel. I love good fucking entertainment! also mappa needs to treat animators better!
