1回目、ただの父と娘の旅を見させられ、転々と散りばめた言葉と、ラストにに向けてこみ上げてくるものを感じ、2回目以降、終始泣きっぱなし。11歳の娘が大人になり、父との思い出を振り返る。鑑賞中、隣には大人になった娘といっしょに見ているような感覚になる。後半、父の全裸で背中越しで泣いているシーンは、私のベストシーンだ。
A24作品は、見せ方、撮り方が他の映画製作会社とは異彩を放っていて、おんなじ作品でも全く違うテイストで見せてくれる。今作でも垣間見え、気づけば終わっていた。
The first time, you are made to watch just a father and daughter's journey, then you feel the words scattered from one to another and the build-up towards the end, and from the second time onwards, you cry all the way through: the 11-year-old daughter becomes an adult and reflects on her memories of her father. While watching the film, you feel as if you are watching it with your grown-up daughter next to you. The scene in the second half where the father is naked and crying over his back is my best scene.
A24's films are different from other film production companies in the way they are presented and filmed, and even the same film is presented with a completely different taste. This film also shows glimpses of this, and before you know it, it's over.
