宮崎駿、自伝的作品であり、次世代に託す一作。
ポニョ以降、大衆受けの「分かりやすく」ではなく、
哲学的で内省的な「難解」な作品になり、
その最たるものが、今回の作品。
前半、少年の僅かな心の痛みと変化、
後半、先代から受け継いだものを更に次世代へ。
「君たちはどう生きるか」を読んで、考えて、
持って帰った石は、馬鹿にされる石でも、
その少年にとっては導きであり、かけがえのないもの。
その石が、今後次世代に影響を受けて、また”世界”を作っていく。
戦争の後が残る、戦後まもなくに生まれ、
「宮崎駿」というキャリアがあったからこそ、描けた作品。
時代と共に熟成していく作品なので、また歳を経た時に見てみたい。
