「心中」に至るまで愛し合うことができた時代への羨望ー
京劇が彩る郷愁の街に、接近し合う男女の息遣いが滲んでいた。
大正時代の"心中未遂"を題材にひとつ物語を構造していたので、非常に参考になったのというのがひとつ。
「家」の力が強い時代に、結びつくことを反対された男女の抵抗と落胆、そして結実したものや溢れてしまったもの、それを取り返すことはやはり"幽霊"というモチーフを用いて可能になる極めて映画的な文法の中で叶えられることなのだろうなと思った。

Envy for the times when people could love each other to the point of "double suicide"
The breath of a man and woman approaching each other permeated the nostalgic town decorated with Peking opera.
The story was based on an attempted double suicide in the Taisho period, so it was very helpful.
In an era when the power of the "family" was strong, the resistance and disappointment of a man and woman who were opposed to joining together, and the fruition and overflowing of things, and the recapture of them, were all things that could be achieved in a highly cinematic grammar made possible by the motif of "ghosts."
