This was a very interesting film and I am glad to have watched it at Sarah's recommendation. I really liked the focus on the importance of the expression of true feelings... being "real". The poster with the car in the bedroom also reinforces this. Everybody in this film has an inability to express their true feelings, stifling and muffling them (often at the hands/force of others) and therefore are also forced to have an excess of superficial feelings.
Much of Agathe's confusion and her emotions are also built upon lies - they are simply based on Francis, Tom and Sarah's masquerades. Everybody in this movie is psychologically a bit messed up, except for maybe Sarah (I think that she acts as a reality check for the audience and also for the characters). It was very interesting to consider the motives of each character and what may have driven them into their folly, what kind of folly they experience as a result of a lack or excess of something, and how each affected person interacts with another affected person via words and actions.
