この映画見たことないと思っていたけど、見たことあったっぽい、、いつ見たんだろう。
とはいえ鮮明に覚えていたわけじゃないから再び最後まで鑑賞。
同一キャストだから可能な、複数の年齢ピリオドで見るboyhood。映画自体は淡々としているけど、シーンが変わり子供が成長した時でも誰が誰だって困惑しなくて済む。子供の頃は面影がなかったのに成長したMasonが顔の作りも風貌もお父さんにそっくりでびっくりした。
ラジオから流れる曲、車、でっかいパソコン、HSM、オバマ・バイデンペアの選挙 、Facebook、、、キャラクターの成長する姿と共にその時代その時代のリアルな姿を辿れて楽しい。前半は特に、まるでドキュメンタリーを観ているみたいだった。
映画の後半は成長するとは何かを視聴者に問う。好きな台詞が多すぎてたくさん引用してしまった。2つめは物理的にも心理的にも「断捨離をすること」を意味しているのかな〜と解釈。
4つめに引用したカレッジに旅立つMasonに向けて放たれたお母さんの本音を聞いて、私も自分の両親を想った。この台詞は全世界の子供を愛する両親の声を反映していると思う。
プロットに関係ないけどふと気の毒に思ったのは、お母さん自体は学歴があって真面目で良い人そうなのに、結婚する人はみんな難ありなのよねえ。
