10月キャッチアップホラーの第4番:オーストラリアの「ババドック」(2014年)。 子育てをめぐるホラーなので、結構効きました。中田監督の「ほの暗い水の底に」に似ているが、中田ほどセンチメンタルじゃない。最近アメリカで流行っている「スローホラー」の火付けをしたことがよく分かる。
Next October catchup horror is the Australian “The Babadook” (2014, dir. Jennifer Kent). This was definitely harrowing in its depictions of troubled parenthood. reminded me of Nakata’s Dark Water but without the sentimentalism. I can see how this has influenced newer things like Hereditary.
