【 パリとムンバイ、それぞれの孤独 】
映画の中盤で、タージマハル・ホテルの襲撃を描いているが、監督が見せたかったのは前半の日常、後半のフランス人高校生ルイーズのテロ事件後に忍び寄る孤独、そのギャップやPTSDについてなのだと思う。
ムンバイのエキゾチックな描写も上手いが、テロ事件後のパリに戻ったルイーズが歩く雨のパリの街並みも、また美しい。それが彼女の居所のない世界なのだけれども・・・
ニック・ドレイクの"River man"が流れた時点で、もう切ない。歌詞がルイーズの心情のようだから。(映画のなかに使われる音楽にはフィリップ・グラスやラヴィ・シャンカール、それにカエターノ・ヴェローゾまで渋いもの揃い)
