ハルストルム監督の構成はいつも上手くて、安定感のあるストーリーテリングにいつも惹きこまれる。今回も犬目線の愛情にはほっこりしたけど、最初の主人イーサンに優先順位を置き過ぎている点で、納得感のないエンディングだった。警官や黒人女性というキャラクターが、ベイリーにとってただの通過点でしかない印象を受けた。彼らの存在は伏線としての強度がなく、作品に多様性を与えるための駒になっている、という違和感が残った。
I am always impressed by Hallstorm’s storytelling, and this time, warmed by the affection of the dog, the main character of this film, Bailey. However, the film places too much priority on the first master, Ethan. I got the impression that the characters of the cop and the black woman were just part of the processes of Bailey's lives. I was left with the uncomfortable feeling that they were sub-elements of the story and used as the pawns to portray the diversity.
