The relationship between Chiron and Kevin is depicted as contrasted in this film. When the first scene of them (Little), Chiron didn't talk so much and was alone, but Kevin talked to Chiron often. Kevin looks sociable, as opposed to the introverted Chiron. Chiron is being bullied, but Kevin doesn't hesitate to talk to him.
In the second act, they became teenagers. They haven't been together all the time, but they seem to have the same relationship as when they were little. But unlike Kevin, who began to be interested in girls, Chiron hasn't changed anything. Chiron hasn't made any other friends and be alone as usual. He didn't rebel against Kevin, who beat Chiron without refusing the man's suggestion to bully.
In the final act, they became adults. Chiron became a drug dealer and became rich but he has been still caught in his childhood. He doesn't change anything more. On the other hand, Kevin, who has children and works sincerely, seems to have grown up. Chiron says "You’re the only man that’s ever touched me. You’re the only one. I haven’t really touched anyone since." That's mean that he is still in the night when he was touched by Kevin. The final scene where Kevin comforts Chiron is the same as the beach scene (act 2), but their relationship does not seem to change over time.
