In an era where journalistic efforts are swarmed by click-baits, political biases, and more notoriously “fake news”, The Post serves as a reminder to a time when the “truth” triumph over anything else—to a time when integrity and freedom represent its meaning. The fact remains; people deserves the truth and only the truth. According to this film, delivering said truth however is easier said than done. The Post is undoubtedly a tale from the past, yet today’s climate convinced us as if this was yesterday’s paper.

Boasting nothing but a simple premise—a story being discovered, a story is written then published—The Post has no right of being as thrilling and enthralling as it is. But, in the trinity (Spielberg, Hanks, and Streep) we trust.
Infusing his directorial experiences from his adventure/sci-fi endeavors, Spielberg seasons The Post with some oomphs to what otherwise would be another slowly paced (the first 30 minutes were a drag), Oscar-bait borefest. Though hardly groundbreaking, it is a lucid, solid and well polished throughout.

Hanks and Streep are, well they’re simply phenomenal. What else is new? Everything nice about them that needs to be said has already been said.
