- in the end Cleo is accepted by the family (mother) and although it can be argued that the mom was an asshole before and has no right to do so, it still felt like good closure, especially because they were experiencing similar hardships and shared empathy
- It’s also sad how Cleo, for good or for worse, can only succeed to aid and provide happiness to a family that is not her own
