Kids can be brutal. Adults can be brutal. People can be brutal. Once again, kids can be brutal. Reminded me of my school days, definitely not proud of multiple incidents being involved in the “wise-ass” movement, taking advantage of and disrespecting teachers. Acting like we knew what was best for us.
Kids can be confusing (and are usually confused themselves) so I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for educators to try and reach their hearts.
Great depiction of the inevitable and uncontrollable chaos in what is supposed to be a peaceful, safe haven for all - school. How one small action can spiral into a life changing mess.
Reminded me of movies like 怪物 and Anatomy of a Fall, there is such a strong essence of ambiguity / emphasis on the subjective nature of what we perceive as the truth. What this movie did so well was make every perspective valid in the audience’s eyes. 全員の気持ちや苦悩が理解できる。
Liked the claustrophobic structure of the movie; we barely see any scenes outside of the school, the only time we see outside is basically a prison break scene. It feels as though the teacher has nowhere to escape, and is forced to face the situation head on at all times.
Cool shot of the teacher looking out the window into the gymnasium full of students, seemed like she was looking at suspects at a police station.
Interesting how it is normalized to give young kids such responsibility and accountability in European education : “Sofia explain this concept to your classmate” “Ruben please take care of Lucas”. 社会性を育む教育方針が自分の受けた教育と違い感銘を受けた。
