恋に嵌れば嵌る程ルール無用になっていくっていう話。
マンハッタンのインテリ金持ちの色恋話でしゃらくさい所はあるけど、それでも別れの切なさとニューヨークの風景とを感じられる良い映画だった。
両親役のフランク・ランジェラとグレン・クローズは勿論良かったし、ベレニス・マーロウとオリヴィア・サールビーの女性陣二人もちょっとした表情の作り方や言動が魅力的だった。

Arielle: Of course, what did you think?
Brian: I thought you were *not* married.
Arielle: Why would you think that?
Brian: Why would I *not* think that? For one thing you don't wear a wedding ring.
Arielle: So American. You need a sign post for everything or you'll completely lose your way.
Arielle: I'm sad. It was the beginning.
Brian: Of what?
Arielle: Belief.
