This movie was so so. I’m a huge fan of the movie the 5th Element from the same director, so maybe I had different expectations.
I think this movie was more geared towards children, which is not a bad thing but I was hoping for more adult silliness like in the 5th element.
Okay, so lets talk about the bad first.
The plot. It was weak and predictable. I was hoping for something with a little bit more depth.
DaneDeHaan who I really like as an actor was obviously miscast. He felt so out of place. The chemistry between him and Cara was missing and his character was just not funny.
Visually it had its ups and downs here and there.
I liked how they did had a cameo for the golden penguin aliens from the 5th element.
Cara! She is so hot and cool at the same time. She was a great character. It was like she was actually trying and Dane just gave up.
The fantasy. The world of a 1000 planets was great but I was hoping to see more background in some of the other worlds. That was a shame.
So all in all, not a bad movie but nothing to write home about.
