【選挙戦の演出家】
元となったドキュメンタリーは未視聴。
一線を退いていた選挙戦略家Janeに、ボリビア大統領選挙の話が舞い込む。担当するのは不人気な元大統領Castillo。
一方で最有力候補者をサポートするのは、Janeの宿敵Pat。個人的な復讐心があり、彼女も参戦することに。
候補者達が外国の政治コンサルタント会社に依頼する…。当選後を見据えた米側からのアプローチだとばかり思っていましたが、雇い主は候補者ということですから、いずれにしろこの時点で相当資金がなければムリということですよね…。
候補者のイメージ戦略。
高慢でしかめっ面気味のCastilloには、親しみやすさよりも、国家の危機に立ち向かう強く勇ましいリーダー像を当てはめて行く。
また戦略のためなら、候補者自身を騙すことも厭わない。
ライバルコンサルタントのPatは、紳士風を装いながら、なかなか狡猾で陰険なセクハラオヤジで、Janeを心理的に追い詰めます。
数々の罠を仕掛けては、やられたらやり返す選挙戦。
いつから選挙はこうなった？
勝つことだけを考えているけれど、当選はあくまで政治のスタート地点ではないのか。
そもそもその人物を当選させて良いのか。
Castilloをまるで父親のように尊敬していた青年の純粋な期待に、一体誰が応えられるのか。
中盤まではあり得ないだろうというくらいコミカル。それでも我がサスペンススリラー脳は、もしや爆弾を届けに来たか？！と睨んだのですが🙃、終盤一気に！真面目路線へ。優等生なエンディングでした。

(患者さん含め)人は言われた内容を理解できなくても、どんな口調で言われたかはよく覚えていると、教えてくれた先生は、なぜかとっても怖い😅。勿論、理解して頂けるように話すことが前提です。。
