Based on a true story of Satoshi Murayama who was a shogi player.
Firstly, I don't have anything that I can die for like he had. Not many people can live the same way with him. It's because not many people have a thing to die for.
Secondly, he could focus on playing shogi, it was not only because he wanted but also he had people who supported him. Also he had Habu who he wanted to win from. Those encouraged him in a good way also a bad way.
Lastly, I don't think he would regret that he didn't have a surgery when he was told about his situation. He fought for shogi and the cancer. Absolutely he had choices however he made a choice that he lives for shogi and die for shogi.
