‘The Disaster Artist’ was directed by James Franco and stars James Franco as Tommy Wiseau, who made The Room that ended up becoming the best-worst film of all time. This movie follows his life until The Room was theatrically released and how the friendship between Tommy and Greg (played by James’ brother Dave Franco) who played Mark in The Room developed since they met at an audition to be an actor. This movie shows us everything that happened in reality behind The Room and why The Room that was badly made in every aspect became one of indelible films despite being called the worst film ever made. These things that we’ve been wondering since The Room came out is finally revealed thorough The Disaster Artist!
This movie was really well-made and very much fun to see the process of making The Room which I also enjoyed watching, not as much as the audience at the premier though. But when I saw The Room for the first time (can’t remember when), I found that film so silly and also as having called, the movie can be the worst film I’ve ever seen before. However, it was kinda funny that I didn’t find the movie that boring, though it was really bad and completely a failure. So I’ve been wondering why this movie has been really popular and famous in an infamous way. Finally today, thanks to James Franco i understood that reason. Furthermore, it was really surprising to know his real personality cos he was much the same person as in The Room. What I mean is he was really weird even behind scenes or even in his personal life cos I thought he was just acting as Johnny who was hilarious, weird and mysterious in The Room but turned out that he was not acting...he couldn’t act. The fact really blew me away. Since there were so much stuff that I didn’t know about its background , I really did find this movie so interesting and I can highly recommend to those who saw The Room but unless you’ve seen The Room before, you might not be able to enjoy The Disaster Artist that much cos this movie was completely about Tommy Wiseau. Speaking of James Franco, he did a great job with this. He was really careful about every single thing to make the film as realistic as possible. For example, camera angles, the timing of saying lines, film set decorations and that sort of things. You’ll see how accurate that was compared with the original film The Room because of some scenes from The Room that are compared side-by-side with the same scenes reshot with The Disaster Artist cast after the story comes to an end. So suggest that you don’t leave the theatre room till the movie has completed finished. Anyway, to sum up this movie was fantastic and you should definitely see this film and you might as well like The Room if you hated. The Disaster Artist made me feel like watching The Room again, though I was not planning on re-watching it when I saw it for the first time. Anyway, I hope you can enjoy it as much as I did.
