“Mile 22”, the 4th movie for Peter Berg to team up with Mark Wahlberg: Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon, and Patriots Day which is actually my favourite. But when it comes to the movie, I got let down by the plot, cinematography and etc. Starting off with the plot, despite some sequences of extreme action scenes which I usually enjoy watching, i kinda found it a bit dull and there’s really nothing touching like these first three films that i found quite moving. I really wondered what was the point in making the movie and what the movie actually wanted us to learn of. Also, the way Mark Wahlberg shows up for the first time in the movie should have changed a bit coz we’ve seen him holding a shooting gun and aiming at some targets...is that the only way to make him appear. I doubt that, though he looks quite good when holding a weapon, talking to people out loud like he was giving them education with some academic things and swear words. Iko Uwais who is well known for a role in The Raid movies which are amazing, was really good in the movie with some fist fighting that he is obviously good at. But still i really felt like that I was watching things that I am quite familiar with since Peter Berg seemed to establish some kinda stereotypes for them: Mark Wahlberg = holding a gun and Iko = fist fighting with tons of blood with no smiles in the entire film. Nevertheless, these two could have looked better in the movie only if the action sequences had been shot and edited in a better way. They almost made me dizzy due to the extreme change of scenes and shakes of the cameras which were terrible even if they wanted to give it tension. Anyway, the plot sometimes gets boring and a bit tiring despite its length which was around 95mins. You can’t expect the movie to be as good as the first three movies that he made with Mark Wahlberg, or you’re gonna get disappointed. Thanks! #mile22 #peterberg #markwhalberg #ikouwais #moviereview
