•ソフィア・コッポラ監督による新作。夫が浮気していると思い嫁と彼女の父が、夫の行先などを調べる探偵物語系な映画だが、それだけではない。この映画の本当の“もの”は、いろいろな関係(relationship)を生み出す人間性であること。コッポラ監督は、かなりスローに感じるような話の流れを使いつつストーリーの本質を保ち、それによって見る人々を最後まで純粋に落ち着かせる。わたしの2020年お気に入り映画の1つであるだろう。
•This film is not just a detective story about a wife and her dad finding out whether her husband has been cheating on her or not, but also about human nature relating to the essence of relationships between daughter and dad as well as wife and husband. The auteur, Sofia Coppola, maintained its very quality of the story that, albeit at a slow pace, never ceases to make us feel genuinely calm and comfortable till the end. Hence, one of my favourite films of the year for sure.
