“Rocketman” - Movie Review: a biopic based on Elton John’s life.

[日本語] 波乱万丈のエルトンジョンの人生についての映画にかかわらず、ボヘミアンラプソディーとはちがい ミュージカル要素をいれることにより シリアスなものがすこし抜け 観客がすこし簡単に受け止められるように感じた。ストーリーの進み方はボヘミアンラプソディーとほぼ同じ感じであった。最初は 自分の真のタレントを磨くのに熱心な子供時代から 転機が起き 音楽界のレジェンド(伝説)と言われるようになり しかし ドラッグや人間関係のため どん底に落ちるといったかんじである。なのでエルトンをあまり知らなくても どういう風に展開されていくかは、予測がつくであろう。しかしこの映画の見所はやっぱり 俳優たちの演技である。エルトンジョンを演じたターロンエガートンは 本物そっくりに演じられていて とても迫力もあった。オスカーを獲ることができるかな？彼の演技だけでなく、ほかの俳優たちの演技も最高であり 彼らがこの伝記映画にテンションを注ぎ、本物のエルトン伝記を見てるかのようだった。ボヘミアンラプソディー同じく、リサーチをすこししたところ、いくつか事実と異なってるところもあるが(例えば、エルトンジョンのジョンはビートルズのジョンレノンから実際はとられてないなど)、ミュージカル映画としてはとても良くできた映画だとおもう。P.S 少年の頃のエルトンを演じた子役の顔が エルトンの幼少期そっくりすぎてビックリした。
[ENG] The film was filled with musical elements and some fantasy, thus reducing serious tones of the film despite depicting his tough life from his childhood in order to make it easier for the audiences to take it all in. The development of the plot was almost the same as Bohemian Rhapsody’s; the character starts developing his ability in childhood and comes across a turning point that makes him a legend but slowly falls into the abyss on account of sexuality, relationships, paranoia, drugs and so forth. Therefore, the plot structure was quite predictable even without being familiar with his life well. However, Taron Egerton who portrayed Elton John in the film showed us his amazing performance for which he should win an Oscar. Performances of actors and actresses in the film were the ones which created the quality of authenticity and brought brightness to the plot for this biopic. They did such a magnificent job there. Regardless of some inaccuracies (like Elton “John” was not actually nicknamed after John Lennon...) the film was fantastically made as a musical/kinda fantasy at some point. P.S the child actor who played as young Elton looked ridiculously alike to real young Elton.
