I went to see a film called Children of the Sea (Kaijyu no Kodomo), since some people said that I should see it in theatre while it’s still out. The original work is a cartoon by Daisuke Igarashi. He is an outstanding cartoonist with the ball pen.

脚本は盛り上がりに欠けましたが、映像はとてつもなくきれい。目をこらせば、光の中のほこり、髪の毛のゆれ、気泡に映る虹まで描かれていて、その緻密さに驚いた。
以前テレビ『浦沢直樹の漫勉』で、五十嵐さんが漫画を描いているところを観た。見るからに骨の折れる作業。その上、アニメーションではー秒につき何十コマの絵が必要って思うとネ…。
そういう訳でスタジオ4℃によるこの映像体験は忘れられないものとなりました。特に雨の中の海月シーンが好きッス。
