This movie is not Heath Ledger's Joker movie. Joker in this film is performed by Joaquin Phoenix. I think smiling and crying are very similar in terms of facial expressions. I was sometimes confused because I couldn't tell if he was crying or smiling. This performance made this movie more interesting.
