this film hit me too hard during this sensational period of time that im personally in.
i really liked the camera work and how they capture the every beautiful moment. but at the same time, they did not miss any emotions of different characters. Sophie's pure interest in the new world, the pure joy of spending time with her dad, Calum’s love towards his daughter, depression, and anxiety, and I also saw a dilemma between getting over difficulty and giving up everything.
he was trying so hard to calm himself down by meditation or else. he was trying not to expose depressing side to Sophie. but it was too much for him. the noise surrounding him was too loud to be in peace. he did not want to be like that, he did not expect to be like that when he was 11.
this film was too silent and did not put any direct or obvious representation but somehow i got very strong feeling like i dont know like something big hit so hard.
honestly, the best film as far in 2023.(its just january tho)
