ケリーだと判明する結末はすごいリアルだと思う。孤独が一番精神的につらいとは海外ではよく聞くんだけど、それを当に描いていましたね。一番周りに気をかけて親切だったのに、周りが個人的な理由（しかも相当な）があったとはいえ何もしてあげなかったのが辛い
この映画は誰もが話せない問題を抱えてるっていうのが印象的だった。何か嫌なことがあってとかコミュ障で相手に雑な態度になってしまうというのはよくあるけど、言い訳にはならないのよね。例えばケリーがスティーブンにティッシュを渡して「大丈夫？」と気をかけるシーンで彼は特に礼も言わず去っていったけど、あれは彼の一日とインタビューを観ている我々には、そういう態度も仕方がないと思うかもしれないけど、一日中無視され孤独だったケリーには「まただ」と感じると思う。あの時点で心が折れて、後で言い争ってる兄妹にも気をかけない様子や、そのあと空を見上げる様子から、あのシーンが最後のチャンスだったんじゃないかと感じる
それで一番面白いと思ったのは、この映画自体も最後までケリーに注目しなかったこと。何度もスクリーンには出てきてるのに死ぬまで名前すら明かされない。あの学校に実際にいたとしても、彼女のことは気にしてないでしょうと言わんばかりに。自分が何か苦労してるときは特に、もっと苦労してる他人のことを見落としがちなんだよね。でも彼女は自殺の淵にいたのにも関わらず他人に優しくしていて、そんな彼女がああいう結末を迎えるのはとても心苦しい
It's damn realistic how it was Kelly that committed suicide. Lonliness can literally kill a person and this movie shows that really well. It's heartbreaking that she was the kindest person, who cared about people around her and no one cared about her back. Admittedly though, there were many fair reasons why they were being cold to her.
This movie is impressive in how it shows everyone has own thier problems that can't be shared. We sometimes act rudely because we are irritated or maybe being anxious, but that doesn't justify such attitude. In this movie, for example, when Kelly offerrd help to Steven once, he didn't even say thank you because he was going through a lot that day. Which is understandable for us because we've followed his day and watched his interview. But seen from Kelly's perspective, it was probably like she tried to be nice to him even though she'd been lonely all day, and yet she got ignored. Again. Looking at the following scenes probably that was the moment when she made the decision too.
What I found the most interesting though is that this movie itself also ignores her until she dies. she was always in the scene, but we didn't even know her name until the end. It's like to show that if you were actually in that school you wouldn't care about her. It's so easy to overlook someone that suffers especially when you are already struggling with your own problem. But she still reached out to her friends, despite being the lonliest and the most suicidal out of those six. It's just so painful how it ended.
