Descartes is portrayed as if he were a god, but he was the originator of Western civilisation and the one who came up with dualism, which developed civilisation. However I thought we shouldn't forget that he was also the source of evil that man has done. His thoughts affect us even nowadays. It sounds extreme but dichotomy of body/mind and man/nature esp is still big and powerful
