I found the lighting particularly impactful; spotlights both reveal and obscure, bringing characters into sharp focus while shrouding others in darkness. Also, I noticed that while scratchy sounds aren’t traditionally terrifying in Japanese horror, they’re frequently used in U.S. films to build tension. The exorcism process against a single demon here felt drastic and unrelenting, highlighting its intangible yet potent menace, while other demons linger unexorcised in the shadows.
