It was a splendid film! It was made in 1997 but seemed very plausible and relevant to the cutting-edge technologies even in 2018.
What is striking in this movie is the thought-provoking plot. You can put yourself in anybody's shoes in the film. You can be the parents who chose to use the new technology to offer the better life for their second child. You can be the employer who wants to explore space with the best possible astronauts. You can be the lady who checks her new partner's genetic compositions. You can be Vincent, and you can be Gerome. Do we admire outstanding excellence especially when it is not promised? Does genetic enhancement decrease the giftedness we appreciate? Does gene dictate everything about us? Something was not quite right about the movie, but it is an urgent issue - the world of GATTACA is around the corner.
