Not pleasant but thought-provoking. If everyone could choose a family, how does it look like?
Apparently Osamu and Nobuyo are terrible parents in that they don't let Shota go to school and encourage him to do shoplifting. However, it is highly likely he would have undergone neglect and child abuse if he had stayed with the actual family. So did Yuri.
I was particularly interested in the choice of Aki, who left her upper-class family and joined this working class family and work in sex industry to make a living.
アキがオサムに「ねえいつセックスしてんの？」から始まる会話で、「俺たちは心で繋がってるからそういうの必要ないんだ」「そんなわけない」「じゃあどこで繋がってると思ってんだ」「金」って言ったけど、アキ自身は、この万引き家族と何で繋がってると思っていたんだろう。
