While Tom Cruise remains as an entertaining presence, the same could not be said about the entire movie experience. Jack Reacher Never Go Back's overly formulaic plot is as bad as the title sounds. Add that with uninspired set pieces and a character that serves solely as a liability, the movie is another case of a disappointing sequel. Nevertheless, Cruise and Smulders' sheer badassery is worth the price of admission.
