Oh.... Okay, first of all, it was not so bad as you imagine.
Of course I am a fan of Mr. Yumemakura's works and I can see he truly enjoy this film as well. If you've seen Japanese movies of his work, you should understand what I mean.
Actually it was more like a game or science fiction than sorcery. And action!
It's kind of like 'Matrix' or a bollywood.
It's all about beautiful body and elegance, and a bit of love drama.
But I think you can enjoy it. If you're familiar with Yumemakura's works, you know what's important is subtle but true friendship.
How they grow their feelings, how they become to trust each other, that's the point.
I think they depict that process well enough.
