We cannot escape death, and facing the loss of those who matter most to us is a responsibility imposed equally upon everyone. While the depiction of mourning is a bit unconventional, there is a refreshing novelty in how a presence—normally visible only to three people—manifests as a tangible, physical entity. The sunset I saw on my way home was so incredibly beautiful—just like the opening sunrise of the film—that it felt like an extension of the film experience itself.
