This is so hard to decide the score
I don’t even know how I feel about this movie.
I like Christopher Nolan movies so was excited to see this, but it was super hard to understand cause I don’t have any knowledge about physics or history
If there is anyone who totally understood this, the person is lying
I didn’t get offended by memes or the idea of making this movie, but when I was watching the scene where Oppenheimer got praised and then all the audiences became ppl who suffered from the bomb, I felt like I shouldn’t have been there at the theater
That feeling was not describable
But this movie was purely about his life, studies and suffers instead of war so it was good
But I don’t think many ppl will like this in Japan
Just a big applause to all the actors, Cillian was of course so good, Einstein looks so similar and others look so same as the actual ppl. But I think Robert Downey Jr. broke the image of Ironman, and showed his capability to public!
Update: it is now released in Japan and I saw many comments about it”offended” or “if you think this is a good movie, you are not a Japanese citizen”, on the other hand, “Japan commuted a war crime so they deserved it”, “this should have happened”
This is the lease thing that Nolan or actors wanted to happen.
This is purely about Oppenheimer and his life, they did not put any opinion into this movie, and this is purely what happened.
Oppenheimer invented the bomb using the chain reaction, and if he didn’t do it, someone would have done it. We cannot say if it was a great invention in terms of morality, but it was a great invention in terms of physics.
So we should take this as a historical movie.
We as Japanese people often take everything personally and get offended when others say things about Japan badly (including me of course)
There are numerous movies about wars but no one else would get offended by them.
In fact, we don’t really get taught about the horrible things Japanese ppl did back then like war crimes. And we were attacking countries and were not stopping.
So I understand realistically that if the bomb wasn’t dropped, there would be more deaths than what there were.
BUT I would never say that it should have happened, nor we deserved it.
It is not comparable. That should not have happened, period.
So everyone should watch this, and everyone should watch Hiroshima/Nagasaki movies, Pearl Harbour’s, other war movies to know what happened, and learn to hate war/conflict, not ppl who are living in this era.
とりあえずどう感じていいのかわからない映画だった！
見応えはあったし、見て損はなかったし、別に傷ついたわけでもないけど、考えれば考えるほどどうだったんだろう？てなる
3.4は低いかもしれないし高いかもしれない
でもあの爆発を本当にやったのはすごすぎる、、し実際に落ちた現場を見てないOppenheimerからしたらあーやって実際の映像流さないのが正解だったなあって、でも自分のしたことの大きさに悩むのが写し方うまかった！
日本でどうやって評価されるのか気になる〜
日本で上映され出して、いろんな意見があって、過剰反応する日本人とそれに日本の方が酷いことしたじゃんと反応する海外の人を見て、これはただ発明者の物語であって他の戦争映画と同じ扱いで良いのに、そして落とされるに値したことした人はいないよと言いたい。
落とされて良かったことは絶対になかったし、そんなことをこの映画が言ってるわけじゃない。
好き嫌いは人それぞれでいろんな意見があっていいけど、これきっかけにいろんな比較対象出してきて争い出すのは余りにも醜いし、それが目的じゃないよなあと思った！
