"Shut In" follows a psychologist Mary, played by Naomi Watts, who takes care of her son being a vegetable because of a tragic accident that ended up killing his father. One day, she lets one of her patients, played by Jacob Tremblay, stay at her house in a really snowy day. However, he vanishes into somewhere with a door open while she keeps her eyes off him. Since then, she has felt that something creepy is happening around her, perhaps due to being hang up on her son and the missing boy...

This movie is severely criticised and pretty bad as I expected actually. I like Naomi Watts who played a leading role in this horror/thriller film as well as Jacob whose performance also made it creeper and a bit scary even he does not show up on the screen though. However, I don’t really get why the director accepted such a predictable screenplay and why he directed this... the first 30 minutes where the story is getting weird and really eerie was great and enjoyable because we cannot get any clues to sort it out yet. However, the rest of it ruined everything and was so predictable that the story goes as we expect. That part is likely to keep our eyes off the movie I suppose, though I concentrated on it till the end cos I had to review this. But those who just wanted to enjoy the movie would probably go somewhere or perhaps fall asleep during the climax. It could have been more complex or as vague as 2001: a space odyssey...Ops it's too clueless. But I guess it could have been better even it runs for like 90 minutes that’s a bit short for a movie. I liked the plot but needed a bit more twists or that sort of stuff that would blow us away or made us feel like analysing like the recent very strange thriller “Mother!”. Anyway that’s all I can say about this movie withought spoilers. I could tell you about it more if you guys allowed me to spoil it though. But I want you to enjoy and share your thoughts about it with me or whoever you can share with.
