‘Megan Leavey’ is a biographical film based on a true story, starring Kate Mara as Megan Leavey, who is recruited to search and get rid of weapons or explosives for citizens in Iraq with a military combat dog and they end up completing more than 100 missions and saving many lives during her deployment there. This movie tells about her life from the very beginning where she is wondering what to do for living.
Since I didn’t know about her at all and no idea what made her that famous, this movie was quite enjoyable that I could learn about her well and found it worth watching for all of us. I think especially for those who are fond of animals, this movie might be a tearjerker so better take a hanky with you when seeing this. Even me who don’t really shed tears when watching films, there were some scenes that almost made me cry such as when seeing her and the rowdy military dog gradually bonding with one another and go to the war, risking both lives on searching weapons to rescue the citizens. Though I didn’t really expect it to be that sentimental, it really was more than I had expected. Kate Mara did such a good job in this film as Megan Leavey with a well-trained dog. I’ve never seen her playing such character in any films that she previously appeared and maybe because most of the films starring her were Sci-Fi or action movies like Fantastic Four or The Martian. so this film is the one in which we can see some different aspects of her. And I was kinda surprised to see Tom Felton(well known for playing Malfoy)in this film. He also plays a good one that might be a tearjerker especially at the end. This movie could be an encouragement for all of us when we feel there’s no future or nothing worth doing. This movie helps us to know the fact that there’s always the future for everyone and even if there was nothing fun or motivational for us now, there’s always a way to find out some.
Thank you for reading my brief review of ‘Meagan Leavey’!
